Alyssa Ward
Alyssa has been involved in softball since she could walk, playing competitively through age 18 across rec, travel, middle school, and high school levels. During her playing career, she was part of multiple region championship teams and helped make history as a member of the first-ever state championship softball team at Heard County High School. She continued her career at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton, Georgia, where she earned a softball scholarship. Alyssa has always had a passion for mentoring young athletes, beginning by helping coach her younger siblings in her teenage years. Since March 2021, she has been actively coaching her own child and currently works with 8U softball players, while also having coached multiple seasons of T-ball. Her experience spans all positions on the field, having played as a utility player with a strong background in both middle infield and outfield. Outside of softball, Alyssa works full-time as a 911 dispatcher. She is a dedicated wife and mother of two, with a third child on the way, and remains actively involved in her local community by coaching youth softball and basketball in Heard County.
Alyssa believes softball is about far more than just the game—it’s about building character, relationships, and life skills that extend beyond the field. She is passionate about helping young athletes grow not only in their abilities, but also as individuals. For her, success isn’t just measured by talent or wins, but by attitude, mindset, and the way players treat others. She strives to create an environment where players feel supported, valued, and motivated to improve with each season. Alyssa emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and positivity, while encouraging strong bonds between teammates that can last a lifetime. Her goal is to be a positive role model and lasting influence in her players’ lives—someone they can trust, look up to, and turn to both on and off the field. She approaches coaching with a family mindset, treating each player as her own and celebrating their successes both in softball and in life.
