• West Georgia Nightmare Head Coach (WGN 14U 2029) • Troup County Parks and Rec Head Coach/Asst Coach (2016-2022) • West Georgia Rampage Head Coach (2022-2023) • TC Elite 12U (2022-2024) • Magic 12U (2023-2024) • West Georgia Nightmare (2024-Present) Born and raised in the Pine Mountain/LaGrange area, Coach Will grew up playing baseball and wrestling for Troup High School during all four years of high school. Coach Will was part of the State Championship Wrestling team. When on the baseball field, Coach Will pitched and played first base. After high school, Coach Will followed in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a career with the Georgia State Patrol, first as a radio operator, then as a Trooper. During Coach Will’s time with the State Patrol, he joined the United States Marine Corps and completed 5 years before returning to the State Patrol. Coach Will loves all things softball and never misses an opportunity to work with his girls in the yard outside of regular practice and tournaments. Outside of the field, Coach Will especially enjoys watching softball, constantly wanting to learn more about the sport, as well as hunting and fishing, watching football, baseball, and spending time with his family. Coach Will has been married to his wife, Heather, since 2008. Together they have two daughters, Rhiley, age 15, and Emmalee, age 13. Both girls are proud members of the Nightmare Organization, starting with Emma (or Taz, as she’s known to the softball community) and later with Rhiley joining when Coach Bill and Coach Alex decided to expand the team. Coach Will also has a large fur baby family at home, including his dogs, cats, and goats. Coach Will and his family, as well as both sets of grandparents (Mawmaw, Pawpaw, Nana, and Papa), all enjoy supporting the Nightmare organization and the mission they stand for. Both of Coach Will’s girls re-ignited their love for softball through joining Nightmare.
Attack the BALL! Coach Will strives to provide a positive but motivational style of coaching. Play every rep like it’s your last, don’t play down to competition, and play for the girl standing by you.
